Figure out what you want, and TAKE IT.

I use to be extremely introverted, passive, and a major people-pleaser. Somewhere along that road I found out that it's impossible to make everyone happy and that setting goals for myself to make me happy and my family happy is the most important thing. Stop trying to make the rest of the world happy and focus on the people close to you who you really want to spend your time making happy!

Whatever dreams you might have, you need to realize that you CAN do it and that you CAN make it happen. You do deserve it. Get rid of the lies and fill your mind with TRUTH. You are capable of whatever you choose to be capable of!!!

How do I set goals? How do I plan out my daily, weekly, and yearly goals? Well... let me tell you. ;)

Daily:
First things first, you need to find yourself a cute planner. Something that you can decorate and make uniquely just for you. Next... figure out what your priorities are for each day and plan out your day according to that. My priorities for instance are... time with God, time for myself, time with my husband and baby, scheduling my job, and my business. So when I sit down to plan I put that I will wake up before my daughter and do my devotions... then I will read one of my personal development books or take a walk and just get my head on straight for the day... and then my work out of course! Then I will plan out time with my daughter and husband... usually undivided attention and playtime with Eisley in the mornings and afternoon, and walks or just sit-down and talk time with my husband in the evenings. Then I spend a full power hour on my business once a day. So that right there is a regular day for me! Another thing that I do everyday is write down my main focus for each day. So one day my focus will be "who can I help today, just because?" "Today I'm going to reach out and two 3 of my loved ones and make sure they know I love them!" "Today I'm going to spend 10 minutes writing in my journal about what I'm thankful for." "Today I'm going to do something sweet and spontaneous for my husband!" Spend this time being thankful and spreading love helps me SO much to stay happy and positive. Serving and loving is what keeps you humble!

Weekly:
My weekly goals are always to put my main focus on something specific for the whole week. Examples... this week I'm going to focus on eating extremely healthy EVERY single day. This week I'm going to focus on doing my normal workout AND throwing in an extra ab workout each day! This week I'm going to focus on personal development... and so on and so forth. Finding that constant thing to look at every week helps me SO much to stay on track.

Monthly:
My monthly goals are a little different. Monthly goals I usually give to God and finances. I spend time setting goals for my church and for what God's plan is for me for that month. I set goals for what I'm going to save, tithe, spend... all those financial goals.

Yearly:
This is when I dream BIG. Where will I be at the end of this year, or next year, or the following year. This is where I write down the things that I want and WILL make happen. I will figure out what I want and I will TAKE IT. Right now my goals for this next year are to buy a house and get ready to have a second child! So everything I do for this next year is in preparation for those two big goals!!!

Figure out what you want. Speak truth into your life. Set goals, and make it happen. You are capable and successful and you deserve to have everything your heart desires! Dream big!!!!

Meal prep.
I have gotten quite a lot of requests for information on how I meal prep and what I meal prep, so I thought it was about time I share this! So here's a sneak peak.

I normally do my meal prep at night... and I do my big meal prep on Sunday's. Sunday's are when I cook up tons of chicken for the week, and I make a bunch of boiled eggs. I will also cut up lots of veggies for a veggie tray and to put in sandwich bags to take to work. Chicken... I get boneless chicken and fry it on the stove in a little bit of butter. Boiled eggs... put water in a pot, add eggs and a little bit of salt. When it starts boiling, boil it for 10 minutes. Let cool.

Now for every night when I meal prep for the following day...
I like to switch it up a little. It gets boring when you eat the same things over and over again. Forreal. So try to make a variety of foods. I am going to make a list of foods for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, I normally eat 5-6 small meals/snacks a day. Meal prep usually takes me about 10 minutes. Some of my meals I make the day of, but most of them I have ready to grab and take to work with me! Everyone complains that they don't want to eat healthy because they don't have time... if it's a priority, you'll make it happen.

Breakfast
Granola (very little sugar and lots of fiber/protein) + almond milk + half a grapefruit
Ezekiel Bread (or whole grain) + avocado spread + sliced tomato
Ezekiel Bread (or whole grain) + peanut butter + banana slices
Oatmeal + strawberries/blueberries
2 Fried eggs +  kiwi/mango
Smoothies (water, spinach, low-fat yogurt, frozen strawberries, banana, flaxseeds)
Flour-less pancakes (1 panana, 2 eggs... fry and eat with low-fat yogurt + fruit)
Scrambled eggs + spinach + fried plantains on the side

Lunch
Chicken Wrap (whole wheat tortilla, humus, spinach, cucumbers, chicken)
Turkey Wraps (sliced turkey, humus, spinach, cucumbers... use turkey as tortilla)
BLT (Turkey bacon, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella cheese, whole grain bread)
Turkey sandwich (whole grain bread, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella cheese, turkey)

Snacks
Raw veggies + humus
English muffin + peanut butter + banana/apple slices
Cottage cheese
Protein bar (Fit&Active protein bars are to die for)
2 Boiled eggs (or deviled eggs to mix it up a little)
Rice cakes + peanut butter
Celery + peanut butter + raisins

Dinner
Chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans
Tilapia, sweet potatoes, broccoli
Salmon, rice, asparagus
Chicken stir-fry (saute zucchini, bell peppers, onions, garlic... add cooked chicken)

Tips
Boiled eggs are good at room temperature for up to one week.
You should be drinking half of your weight in ounces of water daily.
Focus on eating lots of proteins and vegetables.
Healthy fats are great too (avocado, humus, mozzarella cheese)

My last tip, and my favorite tip, don't be to hard on yourself. Just focus on trying to get as many raw vegetables, protein, and water into your system as possible. It's okay if you mess up. It's okay to cheat every once in awhile. Eating healthy is a LIFESTYLE. If you never cheat, you're going to want to give up and go back to your old ways. Eating healthy will make you feel fantastic, make you live longer, and give you great skin!! So good luck!

Here's what a normal grocery trip looks like for me. Success.

When I was stuck in depression... and someone told me "Happiness is a choice", I wanted to punch them in the face. That statement made me so angry. Now I know it's because I knew it was true and I was choosing to be negative, angry, sad, and lonely.
In a few short months my entire life has changed. Once you know what it's like to be in the darkness, the light is SO much brighter and warmer. I wake up every single day and choose to be positive and happy. I speak positive truths into my life; and I look at the brighter side of things. These simple changes of my words and thoughts have changed my whole world. I'm happy. I'm in love. I'm excited for the future.

So I want to challenge my readers and followers to stop for a moment and think about something in their lives that they need to be thinking differently about right now. What's something that isn't going so great or that just has you down right now? Try saying some positive things about that situation. "Things will work out. I am strong and I can get through this. God is my guide and I will trust Him completely. This will make me stronger." Try doing this with every situation that comes into your life. One situation at a time. One decision at a time. Aim for that better life.
